The ‘Surrounded By Nature’ series, began with a vision to create a series of paintings celebrating the jewels of nature in our beautiful Tasmania, Australia. Featuring birds, butterflies, bugs, and flowers. It is an intimate observation of the happenings of nature taking place all around, gathered from as far north as Burnie to the ‘Sculpture trail’ Art Farm Birches Bay, Bruny Island, my local neighbourhood and my own garden. Too often we fill our lives with busyness and fail to see the natural treasures surrounding us, the paintings within the shape of a circle symbolise this. Also unique to this series is each painting is surrounded by a Huon Pine mat. Which is also a treasure as Huon Pine is one of Australia’s oldest living trees endemic to Tasmania. It contains a natural preserving oil with an unmistakable perfume. The rich golden colour features birds eye and figuring which harmonises well with the artworks.

The ‘LOOKING INTO’ series, is a collection of Art that reveals the intimate movements of birds, butterflies, insects as they feed, move about from flower to flower. A world of repetitive beauty, similar shapes but all unique, each leaf with its own various shades of colour, each bee for example approaching the flowers from many different angles and having slight differences, yet similar patterns.
