About

Kelly Griffiths, is a nature artist, and lives with her family in beautiful Southern Tasmania. Kelly creates rich, colourful, fine, detailed art in oils, from her observations of nature.

“Most of my inspiration is drawn from gardens in the neighbourhood or walking along the many tracks in the native bushland. Subjects to paint include birdlife, flora, insects and fauna.

The whole process of exploring, observing nature. Soaking in the smells, warmth of the sun, watching the stages of growth in plants. Coming across all kinds of creatures from insects, birds and fauna. Then composing these into an artwork is very satisfying.”

Part of the fun of creating art is imagining the way I would like to see the finished work, a three panel screen framed in Tasmanian Blackwood with a strip of Huon pine through the middle, covered in flora, birdlife and fauna becomes a treasured heirloom piece.
